Fingerprinting FAQ
What is the AHCA Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse?
The Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse is Florida's shared screening system for people who must pass a state and national fingerprint check to work with children, elders, or people with disabilities. Section 435.12, Florida Statutes, created it so specified agencies can share results instead of forcing every employer to start from scratch. Screenings go to FDLE electronically through Livescan or by converting a hard card. Clearinghouse-compliant providers also capture a photograph at the appointment. You still need the correct screening ORI, full legal name, address, Social Security number or Tax ID, date of birth, and other demographics the vendor must send with the prints. AHCA maintains the Clearinghouse system with FDLE.
