Fingerprinting FAQ
What is an EFT fingerprint file for ATF eForms?
An EFT fingerprint file is a digital fingerprint set saved with a .EFT extension. For ATF eForms such as an eForm 1, each responsible person can upload an electronic fingerprint file in that person's section of the form, or mail two FD-258 cards within ten days if no electronic file is provided. ATF guidance says the electronic file must use the .EFT extension, meet FBI electronic fingerprint specification 8.1.0, and stay under 12 MB. After upload, confirm the name and date of birth in the validation popup match the responsible person. Go Fingerprinting offers a standalone EFT fingerprint file for FBI and ATF electronic submission, including ATF eForms, for a flat $75 in Volusia County.
